“ACA”, “Market Place”, “Obamacare”, and “Biden Care” plans are all terms used to describe the same plans. The premium rate is based on different factors than Private Insurance. If you or your total household makes a certain amount of money or less then the government will subsidize (pay part) of the plan. People often report to us that even with a subsidy the plan (the good ones) are very pricey.

These plans offer the best coverage for pre-existing conditions and everyone is accepted by law during the time called (Open Enrollment) This is typically November first through December 15th in the past few years and is determined by the state.

If you miss this opportunity then you can apply for a special enrollment anytime of the year.

The following is from www.healthcare.gov

You can enroll in a health plan through the Marketplace only if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.

You may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period if any of these apply to you:

  • You have a qualifying life event, like having a baby (not Getting pregnant), getting married, moving, or losing other coverage.
  • Your estimated household income is within a certain range.
  • You have other complicated situations, as described on this page.
