A health share plan is not insurance and is not allowed to be called insurance. It is set up much like an insurance plan with a “Non share amount” Like a deductible and an amount the organization will then cover. They are often set up but religious organizations. They are not regulated by the same guidelines as insurance companies. They play by their own set of rules.
For the above reason we can not really compare these plans with “Insurance.” There are people that find them to be healthy but we also hear people that are look for alternatives. We no longer recomend these plans unless there are absolutely no alternatives and an “ACA” “Market Place Place” is not available or affordable.
